Girls vacay in Kenya!

ree

Several months ago and I'm pretty sure it was before all this craziness with covid started (so maybe February?), I decided it would be fun to do something with some of my girls. With an amazing tip from Mayza the Kenya trip was booked and pinned on the calendar.

Crazy how time flies and all of a sudden it's travel time, and considering none of us are able to travel RL a second life destination vacation was just what we needed.

The trip started out pretty much like any other real life vacation. "Sorry your flight has been delayed.." The confirmation we had been given said the flight to Kenya left at 12pm slt. Unfortunatly that was a miss, the flight actually left at 2pm which we found out when we got the reminder notice. So surpriiise! there we were all packed and ready, the experience already feeling very authentic. Winter and Baloo kept us entertained untill it was time to go and we all waved goodbye, and Swuran had to make plans to join us the next day since it got to late RL.

The Teleport to the airport took a while but when we finally got there vacay mode was on!

Passports and boarding cards checked we headed over to the terminal to wait for boarding.

A few quick prayers to not crash, one safety video and a few glasses of champagne and we were all set and all good to go with everyone loaded into the aircraft: Me, Mere,Mayza and Lyric as well as a few others.

I have to say it ws a good flight not to bumpy..nobody falling out of the plane or crashing so ..yeays! we arrived at the Safari Lodge safe and sound.

Finally landed we were shown to the main Lodge where breakfast, lunch and dinner was to be served as well as meet ups for all the activities on the schedule. The staff was really lovely as soon as we were checked in we were shown to our two cabins.

The place was goooorgeous, really beautifully built with that feeling of vacation and relaxation just hitting you...or wait is that a stick? yep the lemurs were throwing sticks..or wait was that a snake!? ok I think we are still undecided on what it was but there is a definite posibility of both to be fair.

Finally at our cabins nesteled into the brush of the high grass and the comforting heat of the Kenyan landscape it was finally time to unpack and kick off those shoes.

After the long flight I was exhausted but when traveling with kids there is no such thing as "let mom sleep" and that apparently applies to grownup kids as well as smaller ones. Mere found a toy plane and went crazy with it.

Then again there is no such thing as privacy with family....XD

Once we had all unpacked and got ourselves installed it was time to enjoy the amenities and first on the list was the hot tub.

SAFARI TIME!

The resort was not only beautiful it also had a ton of activities both planned and scheduled as well as things you could do on your own. First up was the Safari and checking out all the amazing animals in and around the Lodge. So we loaded into the van and headed out.

The drive with all the stops took about 50 minutes and was wonderful. Very interactive and realistic making you feel truly imersed in the experience.

Breakfast Day 2

ree

The second day started with me getting ready quietly so as to not wake Mere up

it was a very relaxing morning and after lounging on the deck for a bit I headed out to greet Swuran who had arrived and showing her around a little before going to the lodge for breakfast.

Most of the girls were still asleep being worn out after a long day of travel and fun the day before. After the rest of us had collapsed post safari Lyric had headed out to go rock climbing so Swuran and I went for a coffee in the bar before being seated and served a special Kenyan breakfast by the resort staff which was lovely.

The activities schedule was packed and lots to do. Some of us tried rock climbing and skydiving some of us did paintball and hot air ballooning. It was well worth it and a wonderful experience.

Before heading home I spent some time with the elephants and giraffs out behind our cabin before being chased by a snake with Mayza and deciding it was time to pack up and head home.

Goodbye Kenya and thank you for an amazing summer vacation 2020
