Tuesday Mornings at 4am is a special time. We've all survived Monday more or less and it's time to get those creative juices flowing and delve a little deeper into the music community in Secondlife, and the place to find all that inspiration is around the campfire at Café Musique.
The early morning in SL has long been one where I get together with my favorite people and enjoy coffee and good conversation. The fact that most of us are involved in the music community means many of those conversations revolve around music and everything that goes on on and off stage.
The main focus of these get togethers has been collaboration and building relationships connecting the music community. The format constantly evolving with the need of those present we start out around the campfire voice on, coffee and or guitar and notepad in hand.
I think one of my favorite things about the Campfire Sessions is the variety. The Karaoke board is there, voice is open when inspiration hits there's opportunity to hop on stream or just strum away sharing ideas. The conversations the past few weeks have ranged from dual streaming to songwriting and collaborating on new projects together in a way that marries the many skills and talents of the crowd in such an enriching way.
That feeling of knowing there is a place where you can come, you can ask your questions and get input from others without judgement and meet with open minds and helpful suggestions is everything. We all come from different RL and SL backgrounds but have that passion for the music community ..what it IS and what it CAN be. Because of this we have different things to offer. This week we had a challenge of songwriting, we set out to use a certain bunch of words and create songs that included them. The result? several awesome new projects that we can work on together. Some of us are lyricists some are amazing guitar players. And taking all of that inspirational conversation and pouring it into song smithing and artistry in here is gonna be one hell of a ride.
