Midnight in Paris

The secondlife destination guide delivers again!
I'm at that point where I am over the snowy snowies here in SL and long for the color that spring brings with it. We're not quite there yet but I figured it would be a good idea to check out a few different locations and do some exploring. So what's a girl to do on a lazy day? well go to Paris with the girls seemed like a good choice. Midnight in Paris is a beautiful setup of a few blocks near the Eiffel Tower set well I guess it says itself ..at midnight in Paris in the rain.

Just the mood of the place and the rain made me think about an old combo box set of Gene Kelley movies I used to own as a teenager. Singing in the Rain, Gigi, and An American in Paris...yeah the leap wasnt a far one to make.
So I dragged Sol along for the ride,Mave unable to be there "in the pixel" but joining us on call as we checked out the different places so meticulously put together.

Down the main street the small Bistro offered shelter from the rain as well as a fine selection of (i'm quite sure) over priced beverages.
I'll never forget ordering a coca cola at Place du Tertre, next to Sacre Coeur RL and paying through the nose for it.
But I suppose the ambience is what you pay for as well and in that sense it was well worth it.

Midnight, Rain and a carousel makes for such a magical feeling of cozy romance and a hellova scenic experience. Loved the little touches of whimsy that reminded me of the things that I really do appreciate about the real Paris now that RL travel has been paused. Exploring some of my favorite vacation destinations in Second Life has been such a great escape when things are in lockdown.

Make sure to use the region windlight for best effect as suggested. All I could have to say is
the experience would have been perfect had there been a proper shoe store and loads of wine and chocolate but having some of my favorite girls there made it a perfect afternoon in my book. Maybe possibly improved by some yummy crepes or a croissant but then again I am both a RL and SL foodie so I just can't help myself

French Crepes
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon white sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
3 eggs
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Step 1
Sift together flour, sugar and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, beat eggs and milk together with an electric mixer. Beat in flour mixture until smooth; stir in melted butter.
Step 2
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 2 tablespoons for each crepe. Tip and rotate pan to spread batter as thinly as possible. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Nothing like strolling down the street, rain glittering against the Eiffel Tower and asphalt by the river cannals enjoying the calm of midnight

I absolutely have to recomend going to Midnight in Paris and taking the oportunity for some tranquil relaxation as well as lots of good photo ops with with friends or a date.

So listen to Piaf, grab a beret and a striped shirt possibly a baguette (my frenchy friends will kill me for saying that lol)
and make sure to pop on over for romance, ambience and a little
joie de vivre!

I love Montmartre, with the artists in the square and jazz bands outside the cafes, with their music echoing down the streets. Sacre Coeur is stunning. I climbed up to the top of it once and, after climbing all those steps to get up to the cathedral, I was well and truly knackered! Lol. So gotta go check this place out. 🗼
