Music and Hiking and Coffee oh my!

There's a special kind of awesome when it comes to communities in Secondlife. Whatever it is that brings them together be it tinies, music, roleplay etc. The grid is full of so much variety it never fails to amaze me all the new things I discover year after year. The fact that there is always something to do makes me wonder how I was ever bored before? But then again I realize I did spend years never really exploring much of the grid around me. I would go to rp sims and fall in love with the level of detail people had put into the locations and building up towns and vibes that captured the mind and gave an experience of feeling home. The past few years my main passion has been the live music scene here in secondlife and that has translated into the FLM Festivals and Coffeehouse and bringing that passion for charity into my sl.

Whenever we spend a significant amount of time doing something we are passionate about there is the "risk " (gasps!) of meeting other people that are also passionate about the same thing! and also have ideas and things going on. So this fall and winter I have been working together with my closest friend and co-conspirator Mavenn as event manager at the Mountain as well as running For the Love of Music. But why do so many different things when we could just simply combine our ventures?

Due to the fact that FLM had it's home on a homestead sim I had been wanting to get a permanently bigger place not only for the festivals for quite a while. The result?

"Crystal Cove" Not just a place for US to have morning coffee but a place for everyone to feel welcome to come relax and explore.

We knew that we wanted to create a place that offered a combination of music a strong feeling of community and experiences.

Finally finding the right full region sim building began. Incorporating winding rivers and waterfalls as well as hiking trails up the mountain to explore and enjoy either on your own or with a friend.

Scattered throughout the wilderness are a few select cabins for rent (more to come during phase 2 when the next neighborhood opens up!)

The hike up to Crystal Cove Peak is a winding trail up the mountain which you can either take by foot or horse and an amazing romantic lookout point that is ideal for long heartfelt talks or makeout senssions with your soulmate...or that guy you met at the gym with the really cute pixel butt...totally up to you.

Not to mention the inflatable dingy boats or swan boats that are rezzable for a trip through the rivers and waterfalls or for a trip around the sim itself when you're too tired to walk or paraglide.

Bike rezzers are also available for on land exploration.

And when you are to tired come on in to town for a mani pedi or a visit to the town square or one of the shops.

More Shops to come as the town grows!

Things in town are still partially under construction!

The Jennifer Steele Art Gallery!

One of the most exciting things in town besides the sneaky cuddle spot in the watertower.

Is the new Art Gallery by Jennifer Steele!

Jennifer is an amazing RL and SL artist who has done us the honor of having her pieces in the town center as part of her Tour Gallery! come on over and check out the amazing original artwork they are seriously gorgeous!

Make Sure to check out Jennifers Gallery on sim and follow her on:

A cozy place to hangout have breakfast or a cup of coffee or an ice cream cone. Why not visit the farmers market and grab a bike for a quicker way around the sim?

Psssst...peek inside the watertower;P

For all you townsfolk!

If you don't want to live off the beaten path but would rather have a place in town, we now have 8 townhouse rental apartments available on Poppy Hill! With a generous prim allowance you can join the Crystal Cove community as a resident!

Smaller and bigger units are available undecorated or with decorating assistance offered only a stones throw from town square and the park!

Our Venues!

Music being what started this entire venture in the first place we are retaining the FLM ( For the Love of Music) Festivals for charity seasonaly as well as the Coffeehouse which has simply moved and is now located slightly out of town.

The Coffeehouse

This is still our Monday home for Live Music performances as well as the Sunday Songwriters Den which will be starting up again in April.

So Join us on Mondays at 10am slt for some awesome lineups of really great performers and really great coffee!

The Park

Saturday mornings 5-7 are now hosted at The Park at Crystal Cove!

Take a walk or a bike ride over from town to the park and join us for picnic in the park at Crystal cove! Every Saturday morning we kick off the weekend with some amazing tunes and hanging out in the park

There's just something special about heading out to the park early on a saturday morning to listen to music, grab a picnic and either plop down on a table or in the grass after a visit to the ice cream or rum truck for refreshments. And YES Open Mic is gonna be doing a comeback on sim!

An why not join us around the campfire and just hangout get to know some new people and relax anytime whatsoever?

The Sim is taking shape come on over and join the community we would love to have you!
