Spring in Tonarino

Updated: Apr 9, 2021

Nothing says spring like japanese cherry blossoms. So with that in mind I thought why not visit the charming Town of Tonarino from the Second Life Desitnations Guide for a mix or rural and urban life in Japan and enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing and exploring.

After a long day of travel.....aka I got stuck in teleport for an entire min...I know oh good god the humanity... I was naturally starved when I got there and was thrilled to find lots of little snack areas around.

Though I have to admit it took a while of me standing out front before I realized this was a self serve place so no..nobody is coming to the window.

The level of detail at the sim along with the mix of more colorful urban elements and the beauty of japanese country life was really wonderful and yes ..they did have chuppa chups so I was happy.

With the basic needs for sugar and food coloring sated I headed out to explore, coming across a small school and a lot of bikes ...I might have missed something and there might have been ridable ones somewhere but the ones I saw were purely decorational ...which is probably a good thing considering my driving skills are fairly lethal and I didn't have travel insurance.

It really did feel like walking around in a anime series though and I half kept expecting to turn around and have a gorgeous upper classman to bump into in slow motion ...but alas...it was just me.

Next time schoolgirl outfit is a must for some cute pictures though js.

Back years ago my sister went to Japan RL and worked in a rice field ..I'm not sure hers was as cute as this one but this was def adorable and I made sure not to trample on stuff and make a mess I didnt have the rubber boots for it but it was very pretty.

After looking over the rice I took a walk in the park an enjoyed some lunch among the cherry blossoms before heading up the mountain.

Heading up the mountain one of my favorite things were all the little cats hanging out in random places...am I a crazy cat lady...yes probably but I'm totally ok with that and I blame Laya

If there is one thing I've never quite gotten that my sister had a obsession with it's the little Tanuki figurines...Tanuki being japanese racoon dogs that mythologically are supposed to be tipsy shapeshifting tricksters that are said to bring prosperity and economical growth...how this relates to giant testicles I'm not quite sure ...but it is a thing and from what I've read apparently the Tanuki use their testicles to shapeshift as well as using them as makeshift raincoats...I am not making this shit up lol.

With Beautiful landscaping and detail I absolutely recomend visiting Tonarino for a taste of Japan and a great way to explore the many different cultures that Second Life showcases with the creativity of it's many builders.

Happy spring enjoy the cherry blossoms, the sake and the giant testicles!

xoxo
